Phoebe Thwaites is a Physician Gastroenterologist who combines private practice with a public appointment at The Alfred Hospital. She has recently completed her PhD exploring the physiology of the gastrointestinal tract using an ingestible gas-sensing capsule.

 

Phoebe has a special interest in looking after patients with disorders of gut-brain interaction, including IBS, and she enjoys managing a variety of other conditions, including general luminal disorders and liver diseases, iron deficiency and bowel cancer screening. Using a collaborative, patient-centred approach, Phoebe strives to deliver evidence-based, holistic care to all of her patients.
